Accountant

Position Outline:

Accountant should be highly proficient at completing all bookkeeping activities. They should be receiving minimal edits to narratives. At this point, they can start to send narratives without review. The Account Manager should continue to review narratives and provide feedback after narratives have been sent. Accountant 1s can complete catch-ups on their own. They can also begin to lead client calls with the Account Manager present.

Graduation Checklist:

  • Ability to refresh bank feed
  • Ability to reconnect account if applicable
  • Ability to research expenses to properly categorize
  • Ability to recognize irregular, potentially fraudulent charges
  • Ability to properly handle transfers from one account to another
  • Ability to process all transactions on a weekly basis
  • Ability to reconcile all accounts monthly
  • Ability to contact client with transactional questions
  • Ability to review income statement and balance sheet for irregularities
  • Ability to attend and contribute on client calls
  • Ability to prepare narrative summary
  • Ability to send narratives once approved by account manager
  • Ability to manage time and client work
  • Ability to handle a full catch up client from start to finish
  • Ability to lead client calls with account manager present
  • Ability to send narratives without prior approval

Complete Responsibilities

  • Work with bookkeeper to transition completed books and processes for continued management 
  • Handle client calls independently
  • Monthly meeting with account manager 
  • Responsible for reviewing work papers of designated clients and team members
  • Work with higher-level clients providing strategic level support
  • Work with clients to set up and maintain their QBO
  • Process weekly transactions for all clients designated QBO
  • Prepare and file payroll and sales tax returns
  • Communicate with clients in regards to their financials and their business strategies.
  • Manage client’s accounts payable & accounts receivable
  • Prepare weekly client dashboards, cash forecasts, and budget
  • Focus on professional growth through additional training opportunities both independently and provided by the company
  • Build strong relationships with customers through regular communications & meetings

Junior Account Manager

Kickstart Accounting, Inc. is offering a premier training program for bookkeepers and accounting professionals. This training program creates a clear path for bookkeepers & accountants to become Account Managers.  

The Junior account manager position will include a 3-6 month training program including approximately 2-3 hours per week.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper who is driven to lead others, always willing to learn and has a proven track record of outstanding client service. This position does not require past management experience; however, demonstrated leadership skills are necessary.
